Praised as one of the greatest talents of the Brazilian guitar today (O Tempo), and as one of the most active and brilliant soloists from his generation (Acervo Digital do Violão Brasileiro) by the specialized press, Octávio Deluchi had his solo debut at Carnegie Hall at the age of 24 and has more than 15 awards in national and international levels. Touring frequently in Brazil and the United States, Deluchi had appearances in cities such as New York, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Philadelphia, Little Rock, Belo Horizonte, and more. As a performer, he has been featured in important venues and series, such as Dizzy's Club at Lincoln Center, Composer's Now, Americas Society, Odeon Guitar Series, Musik Expedition International Music Festival, BNDES, to name a few. Octávio has collaborated with a wide variety of artists, between performances, premieres, and commissions, such as Sergio Assad, João Luiz, Vicente Paschoal, Emmanuele Baldini, Tania Leon, Rosana Diniz, Gabriele Leite, Eduardo Guterres, Guido Campos, and more. His commercial releases showcase his remarkable aptitudes across a wide-ranging repertoire spanning from 19th-century to South American repertoire and collaborations with young composers. Deluchi coordinates the guitar festival Mostra de Violão da Lira Ceciliana and is a guest soloist and resident professor at Festival de Música de Prados, one of the most traditional and old music festivals in Brazil.

Deluchi, a native of Brazil's historic Minas Gerais region, found his musical roots in São João Del Rei and Prados and currently lives in the New York City area, in the United States. Recognized as a dynamic performer, Deluchi captured the spotlight with a solo debut at Carnegie Hall at the age of 24. The specialized press hails him as "one of the most active and brilliant soloists of his generation" (Acervo Digital do Violão Brasileiro), and his accolades include over 15 prizes from prestigious competitions such as the IBLA Grand Prize, Philadelphia International Music Festival Concerto Competition, Souza Lima Guitar Competition, Foundation Awards, among others. His commercial releases showcase his remarkable aptitudes across a wide-ranging repertoire spanning from 19th-century to South American repertoire and collaborations with young composers.
Deluchi's trajectory demonstrates a profound interest in fostering collaboration between composers and interpreters. He has had the honor of premiering, collaborating, or commissioning works by composers such as Sergio Assad, Vicente Paschoal, João Luiz, Luis Carlos Barbieri, Terrence Shepherd, Megan Deslinger, Mary Simmons, to name a few. His appearances have extended from the cities of New York and Philadelphia to the cultural hubs of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Vitória, and Belo Horizonte, being featured as a guest artist at events and venues such as Dizzy's Club at Lincoln Center, Composer's Now, Americas Society/Council of Americas, BNDES, and Odeon Guitar Series in New York City, as well as in prominent music festivals both nationally and internationally.
Deluchi collaborates with a wide array of artists, spanning from percussionist Eduardo Leandro and harpsichordist Arthur Haas as part of Stony Brook University appointments, to musicians like Emmanuele Baldini, Andre Bachur, Matthew Torpe, Fabio Brucoli, Peter Pas, Pedro Visockas, Marco Catto, William Neres, Weiting Sun, Rodrigo Frade, Haruna Furukawa, Kimberly Kang, Rosana Diniz, Pedro Gadelha, Gustavo Fontes, Michael Celentano, Luca Raele, and Guido Campos, among others. Recent projects include a guitar quartet tour in 2023 with João Luiz, Gabriele Leite, and Eduardo Gutterres, and a duo with soprano Janaina Lemos, with concerts scheduled for 2024.
Since 2018, Deluchi has been a guest artist and resident professor at the Festival de Música de Prados and serves as the director of the guitar festival Mostra De Violão da Lira Ceciliana. Octávio is a coordinator for BCGC - Brazilian Classical Guitar Community, working alongside Camilla Silva, Nicolas Porto Silva, and Gabriele Leite to promote and develop online projects that celebrate Brazilian music. Furthermore, he is a founding member of AssoVio Vertentes - Vertentes Guitar Association. He is the curator for the 2024 season at Centro Cultural Yves Alves, a major concert venue in Minas Gerais.
Important names for his musical journey are Guilherme Vincens, João Luiz, Robert Trent, Paulo Martelli, Fabio Zanon, Vladmir Agostini and Ian Guest. He pursued his education at Universidade Federal de São João Del Rei in Brazil, Radford University in Virginia, and is presently a doctoral candidate at Stony Brook University. As an educator, he has maintained a private studio since 2014 and has been teaching for more than ten years, in different settings. His instructional expertise extends to Ezra Guitar in New York City, and he taught in the undergraduate degree programs at Stony Brook University and Radford University.
